DetectorAI Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DetectorAI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects the information processed through the DetectorAI mobile application and backend services. By using DetectorAI you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

User Input	Text you paste, type, or import (PDF, DOC/DOCX, RTF, TXT) to run AI detection or humanizer workflows.
Scan Metadata	Non-sensitive usage metadata such as timestamps, model results, confidence scores, and feature usage counts stored locally via SwiftData for history and analytics.
Device Data	Basic, non-identifying diagnostics provided by Apple/RevenueCat (e.g., device model, OS version) to support purchases and crash analysis.
Purchase Data	Subscription status, product identifiers, and receipt validation handled by RevenueCat/Apple to unlock Detector Pro features. We do not see your full payment details.

We do not collect user account details, contact information, or precise location data. Text submitted for analysis is sent to our Vercel backend, proxied to OpenAI’s API for inference, and discarded after the request completes.

2. How We Use Information

• Run AI detection / humanizer requests and generate reports.
• Maintain your local scan history, usage counters, and free-tier limits.
• Deliver product improvements, troubleshoot crashes, and guard against abuse.
• Enforce subscription entitlements and surface paywall states.

3. Data Storage & Retention

• Inputs and AI responses are streamed from your device to our backend and onward to OpenAI. We do not persist this content server-side after the response is returned.
• Local SwiftData history resides only on your device until you delete it in Settings.
• Subscription receipts are stored by Apple/RevenueCat according to their policies.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your data. Limited sharing occurs only with:

1. OpenAI – to process the text you submit. Interactions follow OpenAI’s API terms.
2. RevenueCat / Apple – to manage in-app purchases and entitlement syncing.
3. Infrastructure Providers – e.g., Vercel for hosting our proxy services.

Each third party receives only the data required to perform their service.

5. Security

DetectorAI uses HTTPS for all network traffic, avoids storing content on our servers, and limits backend access to essential personnel. However, no system is 100% secure, so please avoid submitting highly sensitive information.

6. Your Choices

• Delete history anytime in Settings → Data management.
• Remove and reinstall the app to reset all locally stored data.
• Manage subscription status via the App Store > Apple ID settings.

7. Children’s Privacy

DetectorAI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data to us, contact us to delete it.

8. International Transfers

DetectorAI operates from servers located in the United States. By using the app you consent to the transfer of information to the U.S. and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Revisions will be posted in-app and via this file with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of DetectorAI after changes means you accept the revised policy.
