EchoNote ("we", "our", "us") values your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

a. Voice Recordings

When you record audio using EchoNote, the recording is stored locally on your device.
If you choose to transcribe your audio, the file may be securely uploaded to our AI transcription service provider to convert it into text.

We do not listen to, manually review, or share your recordings.

b. Transcribed Text

Transcriptions generated by AI are stored locally on your device.
If iCloud or other backup options are enabled, Apple's own privacy and security measures apply.

c. App Usage Data (Anonymous)

We may collect minimal analytics data — such as crash reports or feature usage — only to improve app performance and user experience.
No personally identifiable information is collected.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To convert your audio into text using AI-based transcription.
• To provide and improve app features.
• To troubleshoot issues and enhance performance.

We never sell, rent, or trade user data.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your recordings and transcriptions remain under your control.

All communication with our AI service uses secure encryption (HTTPS).

If you delete a recording or note, it is permanently removed from your device.

4. Third-Party AI Services (OpenAI)

Our app provides AI-powered summaries and chat features for your notes. To deliver this functionality, the text transcriptions of your recordings (generated natively on your device) are securely transmitted to a third-party AI service (OpenAI).

• We only send text transcripts, never your actual audio files.
• Neither we nor OpenAI store this text data. It is processed momentarily and immediately deleted.
• Your data is absolutely NOT used by OpenAI to train their models.
• We explicitly ask for your consent before using this feature for the first time in the app.

5. Your Rights

You can delete any recording or transcription at any time.

You may also uninstall EchoNote to remove all local data from your device.

6. Children's Privacy

EchoNote is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally.
